An Online Load-Board – The Ultimate Solution for Freight Brokers and Carriers

In today’s fast paced Freight Industry and its ever-changing environment, the challenge almost every freight broker faces is to balance the time between quickly covering the available freight with the right carriers and following leads which will bring new business to the company. Well, it really is a “Catch 22”. In the past few years many online load-boards have been somewhat helpful to freight brokers on one side and freight carriers on the other, in replacing a portion of their “freight and truck chase battle” over the phone. However, utilizing these load-boards also opens the door to hundreds of available truckers enabling them to call brokers back with inquiries about more details regarding the posted freight. This phenomenon creates excessive volumes of inbound phone calls, putting the broker in the unfortunate position of having to spend more time on the phone with truck drivers than calling new prospects and getting new freight-lanes.

Now, this begs the question: How can a broker avoid spending so much time on the phone with truckers (without alienating these hard-working guys on the road) and at the same time, focus on the rest of his/her agenda for the day?
Well, a group of freight transportation experts challenged this very problem almost five years ago and set out on a journey to bring us the ultimate answer to this question. After 4 long years of research and development, they developed a unique turnkey online application specialized for the Freight Brokerage Industry, called Cargo Success. They managed to include everything that was already automated and offered by other load-boards on the market, but more importantly integrated virtually all human factors and methods of manual work involved in the everyday “Freight posting” and “Truck booking” process.
Let’s see what this on-line application brings to the table and what the concerned parties can now achieve with it, that they previously couldn’t:

Broker
- Can schedule and post available freight and receive online rates/quotes in an “Auto-Pilot” mode (avoiding the excessive volume of inbound calls, while concentrating on other tasks)
- Can get back to the postings at a later time, quickly review submitted quotes and decide who to give the available loads to, with a few clicks of a mouse
- Can send order information to the selected carrier(s) of choice (again, with a single click of a mouse)
- Can leave feedback and comments about the carrier

Carrier
- Can find available freight described in detail
- Can submit online quotes to multiple listings (along with attached authorities, whenever required) and retract previously submitted quotes (if a better offer is found elsewhere)
- Once awarded with a load, can receive order information to execute the load
- Can leave feedback and comments about the broker

Has this unique application truly conquered the problem and provided a solution to improving the Broker’s Time and Resource Management, as it claims? Well, it is up to you to decide.
